Kevin Martin to work for NBC in Sochi

Accoridng to NBC Sports on Monday, Canadian Olympic gold medalist Kevin Martin of Edmonton will work for NBC as a curling analyst for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Martin won a gold medal in curling at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and a silver medal at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. He was unsuccessful in the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in Winnipeg as he lost 7-5 to John Morris of British Columbia in the semi-final game.

NBC has a history of using Canadians for curling coverage. In the past they have used Don Chevrier, Don Duguid and Colleen Jones.

The Olympic men's curling competition will start at 10:00 p.m. mountain time on Sunday, February 9, and the women's curling competition wil start at 3:00 a.m. mountain time on Monday, February 10. The best matchup in draw one for the men will be Switzerland versus Sweden, while the best matchup for the women will be Canada versus China in a matchup between former World Champions Jennifer Jones and Bingyu Wang.
