Kevin Locastro Hired as an assistant at Lausanne

Three months ago, Kevin Locastro stepped down at Christian Brothers after 15 years as head coach to spend more time with his family.

He wasn't looking for another coaching job but football has pulled Locastro back in as he has been hired as an assistant at Lausanne.

"Troy Baker (Lausanne AD) called me and asked if I would have any interest in helping them begin their varsity football program. I further met with Mr. McCathie, the Head Master, and was first extremely impressed with the school. Academically it is second to none," Locastro said.

Locastro who was 109-59 at CBHS in 15 seasons will assist Lausanne head coach Ken Netherland to usher the new program into varsity play starting in 2013.

"My job will be to assist Coach Netherland in whatever capacity he sees fit to help our program win," Locastro said.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Netherland and what he has achieved during his career. I am looking forward to working with him and learning from him as well. My family and I are excited to be a part of the Lausanne family"

He will start his new job in June, after closing out the school year at CBHS.

"Kevin Locastro is a proven winner. His record speaks for itself, and there is no question about his knowledge and ability to teach the game of football," Lausanne Athletic Director Troy Baker said in a school press release. He has built a reputation for being a man of sound character and a passionate competitor. What struck me the most about Kevin was his vision for the future, and his fearless approach to building something special. I respect his tremendous work ethic, his leadership capabilities, his focus on academics and his ability to connect with student-athletes. He is an impactful addition to the Lausanne football family, and we are fortunate to have him.”

Besides winning consistently at CBHS, Locastro's teams finished Division II-AA state runner up in 1999 to MBA and in 2005 they lost 31-27 to arch rival Memphis University School in the Division II-AAA title game.

CBHS also won three Division II West titles in 2005, 2007 and 2010 under Locastro’s guidance as well.
