Kevin Garnett has a no-trade clause in his contract with the Boston Celtics. Yahoo Sports reported on Feb. 16 that Garnett said the Celtics can talk to anyone they want to but he will block any Kevin Garnett trade offer they come up with.
A source told Yahoo that the Los Angeles Clippers believe that if they offered a trade to bring him to the west coast, he might change his mind. The source believes that Garnett would consider the trade despite his refusal to consider a move.
Garnett said in an interview that he will live and die green.
This past offseason, Garnett signed a three-year extension for $36 million that should take him to retirement. With his no-trade clause, he plans to make sure that is how his career plays out. Unfortunately, the Celtics season has not gone as planned.
While Boston is still in the playoff race, they are ranked seventh and are not playing their best this season. Ray Allen leaving for Miami hurt the Celtics and they have not recovered. However, they are also on a hot streak at this moment, winning eight or their last 10.
Both Chris Paul and Blake Griffin said they would love to welcome a Kevin Garnett trade if that could bring the man to Los Angeles. For now, Garnett does not agree.
