Kevin Garnett trade: Celtics, Clippers deal could change NBA title odds

The Kevin Garnett trade rumors are starting to creep up, and this time where there’s smoke there may be fire. SI.com is reporting the Los Angeles Clippers are interested in dealing for the Celtics all-star.

According to SI, "The Los Angeles Clippers have contacted the Boston Celtics about a possible trade for forward Kevin Garnett,The Sporting News’ Sean Deveney reported on Sunday. Citing multiple sources, Deveney reported that the Clippers’ offer would center on second-year guard Eric Bledsoe and veteran forward Caron Butler."

This could be a big pick up for the Clippers if they can make this deal happen.

The long time losers are not just currently best team in California, but they have NBA Finals potential written all over them.

A seasoned vet like Garnett added to the young Clippers nucleus may be just what L.A. needs. Sure, KG's best years might be behind him, but a trade to an NBA team that has hopes of reaching the finals may be just what Garnett needs.

According to Bovada sportsbook on Feb. 3, the Clippers are 5/1 to win the 2013 NBA title, but acquiring Garnett will most likely make those odds fall.

With Ray Allen bolting last summer to Miami and Rajon Rondo out for the rest of 2013 with a torn ACL, the Celtics are most likely looking to rebuild and Garnett's time is coming to and end in Boston either way.

Do you think the Clippers could make an NBA title run if they add Garnett?
