Kevin Durant revealed a new colorway of the Nike KD 6 on his Instagram account on Saturday, potentially giving us our first look at a collaborative effort between Nike Basketball and Nike Sportswear. Durant posted a picture of himself holding up the new sneaker, although it appears to have a more work boot type of appearance based on the colors and materials used on the upper.
Durant mentions in his caption that the shoe features an all-gum sole. What also makes this edition a departure from other KD 6 releases is the KD logo on the heel and the swoosh on the toe appears to be raised and stitched onto the shoe. The lacing system also switches to something a little more traditional and something that you would likely find in a high-end sneaker while the logo on the tongue has also changed into the Nike logo and swoosh. The biggest takeaway from this reveal is that it definitely doesn't look like a sneaker that was made for performance on the court.
As of now, not much is known about this new colorway of the KD 6, but it would not be a surprise if this was actually the Nike KD 6 NSW EXT. Last season saw Nike Sportswear use the Nike LeBron 10 silhouette to implement new and interesting materials to give it a different look and this new KD 6 is looking like something that would be right up Sportswear's design philosophy.
Stay tuned here for more details on this newly revealed Nike KD 6.
