Kevin Durant was asked about a recent NBA top 10 rankings of players and had one disagreement. Durant felt that James Harden should have made the list over Dwyane Wade. Wade took offense to that, and NewsOK.com reported on Sept. 27 that Durant won't back down from his claim.
Durant said that he felt Harden deserved to be on the list rather than Wade, who has battled injuries over the past two seasons. While Wade has been winning championships, that is more because of LeBron James than it is of Wade's doing.
However, Wade trumpeted his own horn after hearing of Durant's words. He said it was time to remind Durant of Wade's "place in history" again. This, of course, is Wade making his claims that he has won a championship while Durant hasn't. What makes Wade's statements so ridiculous is that Durant wasn't putting himself over Wade, he was talking about another player.
Wade was just praising himself.
Durant was told of Wade taking offense to the comments and just shook it off. He said he was not insulting Wade, but he still believes that Harden is the man who should be on the list instead. He did say Wade was a "great, great player" and that is was not meant as disrespect.
Durant then added one more bullet when he told Wade that it is "just competition."
