Kevin Costner is looking forward to 'Draft Day'

It looks like Kevin Costner’s comeback is back on track.

Vulture learned today that “Draft Day,” a Black List script with Kevin Costner set to star and Ivan Reitman to produce and possibly direct, has finally been picked up by Lionsgate.

Costner will play the manager of the Buffalo Bills, a perennial underdog that's suddenly given an unexpected windfall: a first-round draft pick.

The story won't be so much about the actual game but the wheeling and dealing that takes place behind the scenes.

This is one more step on the road to bringing Costner back from obscurity as he recently starred in the successful TV mini-series “Hatfields & McCoys,” has leading roles in two big movies this year (“Man of Steel” and “Jack Ryan”), and is starring in McG’s upcoming action flick “3 Days to Kill.”

With this sports comedy on the horizon, if everything is successful (which it should be), we should start seeing him more and more in our theaters (I hear there is a "Waterworld" reboot in the works. I hope they cast him).
