Kevin Bacon uses public transportation

According to a Feb. 3 report from Contactmusic.com, Kevin Bacon said that he likes to use the public transportation to get around New York City.

The 54-year-old actor finds it the quickest way to get around the city and passes time by playing games on his cellular phone.

“I take the subway every day,” Bacon said. “When I'm on the train, I play Solitaire, Angry Birds and Backgammon on my phone.”

One reason why he could be taking the subway is because he likes to be noticed. In a past interview, Bacon said he had a prosthetic disguise made and people didn’t recognize him.

“I didn't like it very much – no one was nice to me,” Bacon said. “People didn't bother me, but they also looked right through me.”

Bacon said he is also happy to lend a helping hand at his New York-based home, when there are chores that need to be done.

“Whatever needs to be done, I'll do it,” he said. “I recently vacuumed and cleaned up the foamy insides of a dog toy. I buy our dogs Lilly and Rocky toys and within 24 hours there're piles of chewed up foam all over the house.”

Bacon can be seen in the new Fox series, “The Following,” which airs Mondays at 9 p.m.
