Kevin Bacon is on the subway very often to see his fans. Apparently Bacon is recognized on the subway all the time and loves to interact with people. According to a report on Monday (Feb. 4), Bacon also views the subway as the fastest way to get around New York City. That point is a hard one to argue with, but some fans might feel he is being pretty vain by stating he wants to also be recognized.
In an earlier report, Bacon stated that, "Fame is very much a double-edged sword. I had a prosthetic disguise made, because I wanted to see what it would be like not to be recognized. I didn't like it very much - no one was nice to me." That's certainly an interesting way to carry oneself while riding the subway, but it's also pretty humorous at the same time.
The fact that a big star like Bacon is actually willing to ride the subway does say a lot about him, no matter what the reason ends up being. Many celebrities would rather be driven around by someone in a place like New York City, but Bacon is content hanging out with everyone the city has to offer. Having a love of being recognized isn't something that he is alone with.
Now, many fans will probably start looking for Kevin Bacon on subway cars in the city, just hoping to catch a glimpse of the man in action. Maybe this can even become a new way to bring tourists to the city.
