Kessel gets back to back WCHA award (Video)

They might want to start calling it the 'Amanda Kessel Offensive Player of the Week award' in the WCHA. The Gopher forward won another WCHA Offensive Player of the Week award, her fourth such award this season. Her seven point weekend, including a pure hat trick, was enough to get her the award. Kessel also has 71 points entering this weekend, which is tops in the nation.

The other awards went to Brigette Lacquette, a sophomore from UMD, for the Defensive Player of the Week. She beat out Megan Bozek, who was nominated from the Gophers. Also, Warroad native and current UND goalie Shelby Amsley-Benzie won the Rookie of the Week award. She beat out the Gophers Hannah Brandt, who was nominated.
