Kesha unrecognizable on the August cover of Teen Vogue magazine has fans of the “Timber” singer in utter awe. Although the pop star is usually bedecked in shining outfits, flashes of glitter, and lots of colorful makeup, Kesha dropped the dollar sign from her name this week. Instead, she is portraying a fresh, new look that’s being called nothing less than beautiful. News Oxy reveals this Thursday, June 26, 2014, that Kesha feels healthy and confident wearing these clean outfits, adding that she is stepping away from the insane things for a while.
Quite a few readers were at a loss at first as to whom the feature star on the upcoming issue of Teen Vogue magazine was, but it was actually Kesha appearing rather unrecognizable. The talented celebrity’s fans know that the star has had a difficult 2014 after coming forward with the public, saying that she has been battling an ongoing eating disorder for some months now. Now, however, Kesha has revealed that she’s on the road to recovery. She’s feeling good, looking good, and apparently ready to get back into the realm of music.
Doing away with the makeup, face paint, and overlong blonde bangs, Kesha decided to create a clean, fresh, and beautiful look for her spread in Teen Vogue magazine. The cover has people everywhere saying that the “Your Love is My Drug” singer looks unrecognizable initially, and she certainly does have a more classic, austere vibe. It was MTV Style that stated she’s trying out a new appearance (a style identity, if you will) this summer.
“If you couldn’t tell from the cover, she’s trying out a new look,” the source site explained. “The insanity is not gone forever; it’s still there. I’ve only decided to wipe off all the face paint and try to wear beautiful dresses instead of completely insane things,” shared the singer in her inside interview.
So it seems that Kesha, who usually seems to take more after Lady Gaga in terms of style and dramatic flair, is taking a page or two out of Taylor Swift’s style book for the moment. In her in-depth interview in the magazine, the pop star opens up about her time in rehab to essentially clean up her act, renew her health, and work through her eating disorder. She ultimately feels that she’s making progress, which is very good news for fellow fans of the artist to hear.
“My eating disorder is something I’ve been struggling with for a while,” Kesha has acknowledged. “I went to rehab for an eating disorder — nothing more and nothing less … Making my last record, Warrior, was a pretty miserable process, and it wore my spirit down,” added the singer. “I was fighting like hell to keep my whole irreverent essence and everything raw and visceral that I stand for in it, but in the end I was promoting something that wasn’t the animal I wanted it to be.”
What do you think of the Kesha unrecognizable cover? We may not always be able to see the singer show off her freckles and paint-free face, but if anything, it does reveal what a beautiful young woman she really is behind all of the makeup. Kesha has almost promised fans that her rehabilitation has worked wonders for her creativity process, and that she has already recorded a total of 14 new songs during rehab alone. Let’s see where this star will go in choosing to step away from the “insane things” for a while and all the glitter for a more natural approach.
