Kesha's mom: Kesha almost died from eating disorder

Kesha's mom said that Kesha almost died from anorexia and bulimia. On Jan. 20, ABC News reported that Ke$ha's mom has spoken out to the media since her daughter entered rehab a couple of weeks ago for an eating disorder that nearly killed her.

"The doctors told me her blood pressure and sodium levels were so low, they’d never seen it that low except with someone who’d had a heart attack or stroke. They said it was a miracle she hadn’t already dropped dead on stage," Kesha's mom, Pebe Sebert, told People Magazine (via ABC News).

Although Kesha almost died, her mom supported her and provided a safe haven for her daughter despite the traumatic battle that she was facing. When Ke$ha finally told her mother that the disorder had gotten unbearable, it was Sebert who helped her find a rehab facility and who took her there for help.

"She called me and admitted how much she’d been throwing up, and I just said, 'Okay.' I called some centers and Ke$ha agreed to talk to them and liked what they said. She basically cried until we got there three days later," recalled her mom. Interestingly enough, Ke$ha urged her mother to enter rehab as well and Sebert got treatment for PTSD.

Kesha's mom knew Kesha almost died because she had been struggling to obtain a "perfect" body image -- but her support may have saved her daughter's life. Fans hope that Ke$ha can heal and that she will come out of rehab stronger.
