Kershaw helped his own campaign when acquired a stand up double that scored Juan Uribe in the fifth inning for the 2-0 lead.
Uribe was far from done when a launched a three run homer deep to left thatt sealed the deal for the Dodgers.
"He's playing unbelievable for us right now," Kershaw said. "Not just offensively. Defensively he makes every play, and you take it for granted as a pitcher. But Juan's been huge for me.
Kershaw (12-7) struck out eight, with one walk on three hits. He also lowered his ERA to 1.80.
"I had pretty decent fastball command tonight," Kershaw said. "I was able to throw the ball to both sides of the plate decently, and I felt good. Other than that walk to Mayberry, I felt like I had decent control, took advantage of their aggressiveness for the most part tonight and got some quick outs."
Brandon League pitched the ninth inning to capture his 16th shutout save.
Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick (10-10) pitched six innings, and gave up two runs on seven hits in the loss.
Phillies new manager Ryne Sandberg spoke about his team's struggles.
"Their pitching showed what it can do, and they're on a hot streak right now. We faced two hot pitchers, and they came as advertised," Sandberg said.
Charlie Manuel was fired on Friday by the team. Manuel guided the Phillies to five NL East titles and was the most winningest manager in the teams history with 780 victories.
"One thing he does is he attacks the strike zone just pitch after pitch. He's going to be around it and he's going to make you hit him, and it's not like he's going to waste a lot of pitches. Tonight's a good example: He's at 100 pitches through eight. He could've went back out there," said manager Don Mattingly on Kershaw.
The Dodgers look to wrap up the weekend series against the Phillies on Sunday as Ricky Nolasco will face Cole Hammels.
