Kerry Washington glowed on the red carpet of the 86th Annual Academy Awards. The star of Scandal looked beautiful as she showed off her baby bump and gave a big smile to the cameras on Sunday night. However the weather in Hollywood was not quite as friendly to Kerry Washington as it offered up a challenged for the annual walk on the red carpet.

Wearing a Jason Wu gown, it was supposed to be a big debut for the designer, but the bottom got soaked. Weighing down on the material, the gown definitely didn't get the proper introduction to the world as some would have hoped.

The wet red carpet (and streets) around the Dolby Theater wasn't as kind to the Oscar fashion. This year the water was everywhere and stars that had long gowns suffered the most damage. Or maybe it was the shoes? As the wetness dampened the bottoms of every long garment, and made it almost too squishy to walk on the red carpet around the edges of the carpet, in the middle it was just fine. Which made some start think about being carried to the middle of the red carpet, but like Kerry Washington everyone just decided to walk.

It’s been a long time since rain impacted the Oscars like it did in 2014. Of course the show must go on and that’s why fans were glad to see Kerry Washington glowing.
