Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor named 'Top Olympians

The Olympics are coming but the decade of the 2000's won't close without naming the "Top Olympians of the Decade" by Sports Illustrated.
The sports mag named the Top 10 women and Top 10 men who ranked as the top Olympians of the Decade and Olympic volleyball duo Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor were strong at the top.

"Perhaps the most dominant athletes in any sport over the decade, the American volleyball pair won gold medals in Athens and Beijing without losing a set," Sports Illustrated wrote of Walsh and May-Treanor.
Adding, "Their second Olympic triumph extended their unbeaten streak to 108 matches. The streak, which spanned more than a year and included 19 titles, would end at 112."
The team continues to take to the sand despite partnership match-up challenges occurring when partner Kerri Walsh took pregnancy leave.
"It’s crazy. A lot dropped in the first week,” she said to People magazine of dropping the weight to get back on the court. “Now I just need to build my muscle because I’m skinny soft, which is the worst thing to be.”
Kerri lost 36 pounds to make her post-pregnancy weight loss comeback and was back playing volleyball within three months. Read about what practice helped her lose the weight off the sand here.
