The Kern Humane Society is providing discount vouchers for spaying or neutering feral or pet dogs and cats this Saturday February 2. You can get up to two coupons at $20 each per month with an ID that shows Kern County residency. These vouchers are widely accepted in Kern County by veterinarians and pet hospitals, where you might normally pay over $80 to have your dog spayed or neutered. You can use them with your local veterinarian or in conjunction with the Bakersfield SPCA/HOPE Foundation or at any AngelDogs clinic. Spaying or neutering your pet will add years to their lives, make them less likely to roam, less likely to become aggressive, and less likely to develop a number of types of cancer.
WHERE:
- 2111 Brundage Lane in Bakersfield
- 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Call (661) 325-2589
The Kern Humane Society is not a shelter and does not accept animals onsite. They raise money to subsidize the voucher program through sales in their sponsored Thrift Store. They rely on the public to donate gently used items to sell. They are an all volunteer 503(c) non-profit organization.
