Estonian pop singer Kerli's music video for her single, “The Lucky Ones,” crossed one million views via YouTube on Monday. The exhilarating clip captures the song's EDM sound and its uplifting message about appreciating life.
“Congrats Moon Children♥ Whoooop!!!” she wrote to her fanbase on Facebook.
“The Lucky Ones” song premiered back in late October and its music video soon followed in early December. In the vibrant and fast-paced clip, Kerli sings the electro-pop track in the streets of Los Angeles, wearing a colorful outfit and accessories. While she grooves to the track, three other scenes take place: a couple splitting up during a lively rave, a kid running away from his arguing parents, and a woman who feels unloved due to her illness. Staying true to the song's theme of celebrating life, everyone in their difficult circumstances finds themselves to be very fortunate when love comes into the picture.
“The message of the song is for us to never ever forget that we are the lucky ones. That fact that we get to sit here right now […] and be healthy. It's definitely the most meaningful song I've ever written,” said Kerli about the song back during a live chat in September.
“The Lucky Ones” follows her previous club hits, “Army of Love” and “Zero Gravity.” This week, the song climbed to no. 3 on Billboard's dance chart. It previews her forthcoming second album, tentatively titled "Utopia."
