Actress Keri Russell was home alone and fast asleep in the first floor bedroom of her Brooklyn brownstone rental when the sound of men talking woke her up. According to the New York Daily News on Dec. 4. Russell heard the floor boards creaking on the floor above her and she realized burglars had gotten into her home.
Russell then made her way to the floor above, where she heard the noise, but the intruders had gone. They made off with her laptop, necklace, earrings and one expensive handbag. Russell is renting this brownstone with her husband and children while her home is being remodeled. It is unclear where her husband and children were during this burglary.
“The Americans” actress called the police, who were “great” said Russell. The two men were caught red handed not too far away burglarizing another home. A neighbor of the other home saw the men and called the police. A 50-year-old man and his 19-year-old nephew were arrested for a couple of burglaries that night.
The Uncle-nephew duo had made their way into Russell’s home through an open first floor window. Russell went back to work Wednesday after the incident on Tuesday night. The police surprised her and showed up on set to return her stolen goods back to her. She couldn’t find enough good things to say about the NYPD and how terrific they were through this ordeal.
