Keranos, God of Storms is one of five new "god" cards making their debut in Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Journey Into Nyx." At five mana, Keranos, God of Storms is rather high to cast and certainly doesn't have the most impressive stats when it comes to power and toughness, however if using this god creature in combat is your goal then you're doing everything wrong.

As long as your devotion to blue and red is less than seven, Keranos isn't a creature.
Reveal the first card you draw on each of your turns. Whenever you reveal a land card this way, draw a card. Whenever you reveal a nonland card this way, Keranos deals 3 damage to target creature or player.

Keranos, God of Storms can ensure a late game victory. The longer your duel goes, the more powerful its affect on the game becomes. Keranos, God of Storms will yield both card advantage and deal a significant amount of damage over several turns. You'll just need to survive an extended amount of time to take advantage out it.

There's lots of ways to keep alive. Whelming Wave and Cyclonic Rift will slow down your adversary's attackers, and Ral Zarek can keep the biggest threat at bay. Splashing white allows several interesting options. You can put speed bumps in front of your opponent's creatures with Elspeth, Sun's Champion, gain life with Warleader's Helix, exile permanents with Detention Sphere, or just blow up the world with Fated Retribution and Surpreme Verdict.
