Each week during the high school sports season the High School Sports Examiner and the Eastern Maine Sports Blog will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com

2013/2014 winter season- Week 13-February 24th-March 2nd

Female

Mackenzie Worcester- Washburn- basketball- Scored 28 points and dished out six assists in 78-40 class D girls state championship victory over Forest Hills.

The Beavers have now won four consecutive class D state championships.

This is the second athlete of the week honor for Worcester. She earned the honor on October 27th, 2013 when she surpassed the 100 goal plateau on the soccer field.

Carmen Bragg- Washburn- basketball- Recorded 26 points, six steals, three assists, and three rebounds in 78-40 class D girls state championship victory over Forest Hills.
