Valentine’s Day is the theme for many of the events at Kentucky State Parks for the upcoming week. With most resort parks offering either a special overnight package or entertainment or both, regardless of your interest or where you live in the state, finding something to do with a loved one should come easy.
Events at the parks for Monday, February 6 through Sunday, February 12, 2012:
- John James Audubon continues to show the Kentucky Guild of Artists Exhibit which runs through March 11, 2012; and a Black History Month Chautauqua performance of the Rev. Newton Bush is scheduled for Saturday. (270) 827-1893
- Carter Caves presents another round of Pickin’ in the Caves on Monday; a Valentines Dinner Theater will be offered both Friday and Saturday. (800) 325-0059
- Fort Boonesborough continues the Fireside Chats series on Saturday evening with Ernie Kurtz as a frontier musician. (859) 527-3131
- General Butler will host a Blues Brothers Tribute act on Saturday. (866) 462-8853
- Pine Mountain invites all to a Sweetheart’s Dinner and Dance on Saturday featuring live music; a package deal is available that includes one night’s accommodations, dinner, and dance for $110 per couple. (800) 325-1712

- Greenbo Lake will offer a Valentine Getaway Package for Saturday evening that will include dinner theater and lodging for $130 per couple. (800) 325-0083
- Lake Barkley has planned an entire weekend of activities for their Sweetheart’s Weekend with one and two night packages available. The bridge collapse on US-68 may mean a detour if coming to the park from the west. (800) 325-1708
