Kentucky State Amateur Championship deadline approaching

If you are looking to play in the Kentucky State Amateur Championship sponsored by Appalachian Wireless in 2011, it is time to get your entry forms turned in because the deadline for entries is this Thursday, May 6 at 5:00pm.  The entry fee is $150.00 and you must be a member of one of the Kentucky Golf Association's member programs, which will cost you as little as $30 for the year and you get some gifts from the KGA for signing up. 

The State Am is the KGA's premier amateur event and the best from around the state converge on 10 qualifying sites all over the state to make the field of 156 players who compete for 54 holes to be crowned the best in the state.  This year's championship is being hosted at Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Ky.  The qualifying sites and dates are listed as follows:

May 14- Crooked Creek Golf Club-London, Ky.

May 14- Links at Novadell-Hopkinsville, Ky.

May 14- Seneca Golf Course-Louisville, Ky.

May 15- Henderson Country Club- Henderson, Ky.

May 17- Indian Hills Country Club- Bowling Green, Ky.

May 23- Danville Country Club- Danville, Ky.

May 23- Pendleton Country Club- Butler, Ky.

May 24- The Cardinal Club- Simpsonville, Ky.

May 26- Gay Brewer Jr. GC at Picadome Lexington, Ky.

May 28- Eagle Trace Golf Course, Morehead, Ky.

Your local choices are Seneca and Cardinal Club.  All courses are willing to accommodate a practice round at a mutual convenience.  Join the likes of current and former PGA players J.B.
