- Thursday, February 9th -- Morehead -- PoetCharlie Hughes, author of Shifting for Myself and Body and Blood, will read at the Folk Art Center at 7:00pm
- Thursday, February 9th -- Bowling Green-- Warren County Public Library will host popular Kentucky author Gary P. West. His latest book The ABA Kentucky Colonels . . .The Real Story of a Team Left Behind is about another basketball legend, Kentucky’s only professional basketball team. He will speak at the Main Library, 1225 State Street, at 6:00pm.
- Thursday, February 9th --Bowling Green-- poet, essayist and publisher Sarah Gorham will be the first speaker in the spring 2012 Creative Writing Series at Western Kentucky University. 7:00pm in Cherry Hall room 125. The event is free and open to the public.
- Thursday, February 9th -- Lexington-- Joseph-Beth Booksellers hosts T. Rhythm Knight signing Diary of a Basketball Mom. Brandon Knight's mom chronicles her son's journey from AAU Basketball to the NBA. 7:00pm.
- Thr Feb 9 -- Lexington -- Poezia Five Year Anniversary Celebration.Join the Poezia Writing Group as it celebrates its five-year anniversary with works of both poetry and prose, including a premiere of Jude Lally’s new, full-length poetry book, I’m Fine, But Thanks for Asking (Accents Publishing, 2012). 7:00pm at the Carnegie Center in Lexington.

We're inviting folks to stop in throughout the day and write (or sign) letters to their legislators and/or submit letters to the editor in an effort to raise awareness of mountaintop removal and other destructive practices of the coal industry.
