Kentucky Parks Department has a variety of events for couples wanting to celebrate Valentine’s Day. In addition to those events mentioned in previous articles, Carter Caves, Natural Bridge, and Rough River Dam will also celebrate this upcoming weekend.
Carter Caves State Resort Park, near Olive Hill, invites couples to spend a romantic evening with a Valentine’s Dinner Theater on Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16.
Internationally-known storyteller Bil Lepp will entertain with witty stories and tall-tales. He has been described as a blend of Bill Cosby and Jeff Foxworthy and has won numerous awards including being named a five-time champion of the West Virginia Liars’ Contest.
The buffet dinner begins each evening at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the show and dinner are priced at $29.95 per person.
The park is also offering a package that includes the dinner show and an overnight stay in the Lewis Caveland Lodge for just $120.95 per couple.

Natural Bridge State Resort Park, at Slade, will host a Valentine’s Square Dance on Saturday, February 16.
Traditional and easy-to-learn Appalachian square dancing will be the center attraction but clogging, line dancing, two-stepping, polkas, waltzes, and others will also be demonstrated and taught.
The warm-up begins at 6:30 p.m. and the official start time for the dance is 7:30 p.m. The dance will be held in the Woodland Center and typically lasts until 10:00 p.m. Admission is $3.00 for adults; children under 12 are admitted free of charge.

Rough River Dam State Resort Park, at Falls of Rough, invites couples to their Sweetheart Weekend on February 15 through February 17.
Among the activities planned are a magic show on Friday, “Not-So-Newlywed Game” event on Saturday, and a prime rib buffet dinner and dance on Saturday evening.
Overnight packages start at $259.00 per couple and include two nights’ accommodations, Saturday breakfast, activities, prime rib dinner buffet and dance, and Sunday breakfast. Dinner and dance tickets are priced at $89.00 per couple.
