While weed didn't directly kill him, it did play a part.

Sometimes, there are just the stories that aren't even possible of being made up, but they are still just as incredibly tragic. WKYT reported on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, that a man's death is being investigated after he was found in a Casey County, Kentucky field. At this time, it is being reported that the man accidentally stabbed himself while climbing over a fence while holding a marijuana plant.

Kentucky State Police received a call from the authorities in Casey County around 6:00 p.m. in the evening on Saturday night. They were called out to KY Hwy 501 in Liberty, Kentucky, so that they could investigate the death of a man.

Upon arriving on the scene, it was learned that 40-year-old Barry Wilson was the person that was deceased, per WHAS11.

Wilson was found in his yard around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and police were able to determine what happened. They learned that he was walking down an embankment carrying a potted marijuana plant and a knife.

At some point, Wilson tried to hop over a fence, but he tripped or got his foot caught, tripped and fell. When falling to the ground, he fell right on the knife, stabbing himself in the chest, and killing himself.

The Casey County Coroner pronounced Wilson dead at the scene.

The Kentucky State Police are going to keep investigating the situation regarding Wilson's death, but they do not believe foul play was a part of it. An autopsy is going to be performed sometime this week to determine the exact cause of death.
