Upscale clothing boutique Harlem Haberdashery joined several local businesses to celebrate the glamour of the Kentucky Derby with the Harlem Derby. Southern elegance was alive and well in Harlem Saturday evening, and the ladies maintained the tradition of sporting the grandest of hats.
The Harlem Derby also marked the second anniversary of the shop, which specializes in refined urban fashion from 5001 Flavors and other exclusive collaborating designer. Guests sipped cocktails and enjoyed hors d'oeuvres by Sinful Delights. DJ Olivia Dope supplied the music while artist Jay West painted ottomans specifically for the boutique.
Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer paid a visit and spoke passionately about the importance of small businesses in Harlem and the noble quest to reclaim Harlem's elegance.
