Kenny Rogers: Through the Years Exhibit at CMHOF&M

We have loved singer Kenny Rogers since his first big hits in the early days. That would probably be around the time of 1967 onward when he sang with the group, 'The First Edition', before the group broke up and Kenny Rogers started singing by himself. Since that time, we have followed his career in the country music field in Nashville, and as he had major hits on his own or in duets with other popular country music singers such as Dolly Parton or Dottie West.

One of our favorite songs by Kenny Rogers is one of his older ones 'Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town' and one of his duets which we always turn up the radio when we hear it is one with Dolly Parton, 'Islands in the Stream'. We were privileged to be able to attend one of the Kenny Rogers concerts at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville while one of his duet partners, Dottie West, was still alive and we enjoyed seeing them sing, along with another of our favorites, the popular group, 'The Oak Ridge Boys'.

Now comes a celebration of his life and career with an exhibit, 'Kenny Rogers: Through the years' at the Nashville based Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum (CMHOF&M) which opens on August 15 and will run through June 14, 2015. This is one exhibit any Kenny Rogers fans will not want to miss.

The attached video titled 'On the Red Carpet with Country music Star Kenny Rogers' gives us some insight into some of his career and includes a clip with another of our favorite singers, Dolly Parton.
