Kenny Hill has the 2014 Heisman Trophy wrapped up. Okay, of course that's going a bit too far, but after one game as the new Texas A&M quarterback, Hill is already making Aggies fans say "Johnny Who?"
According to a Sportsline report on Aug. 28, Hill lit up the South Carolina defense all night long in Texas A&M's blowout road win over the Gamecocks last night by the final score of 52-28. Hill threw for a whopping 511 yards while completing 44 of 60 passes in the opening day route for the Aggies. What is more impressive than Hill's great performance is the fact that A&M won so convincingly on the road vs. a ranked team.
Now the big question is was this performance just a flash in the pan type game, or is Kenny Hil the next Johnny Manziel?
Heisman odds makers are giving Hill the nod as “the real deal” as his stock to win the 2014 Heisman trophy is rapidly on the rise. Once listed at over 100/1, Hill is now listed at +1200 or 12/1 according to Sportsbook.ag.
Jameis Winston (Florida St) and Marcus Mariota (Oregon) are still the top two favorites, but Hill has jumped from near the bottom of the pack to a top ten favorite.
