This year's top ACM nod-getter, Kenny Chesney, has yet another reason to celebrate as of late, with the just-announced news that his latest single, "You and Tequila," has been certfied platinum.
The "You and Tequila" track, which is a much-noticed duet with Grace Potter, also is up for a pair of Grammy trophies, as well as five ACM honors. The song also is the second million-selling song from Chesney's platinum BNA album titled Hemingway's Whiskey and the follow-up single to "Somewhere With You."
Written by Deana Carter and Matreca Berg, "You and Tequila" is one that Chesney's been proud to share with so many, including on the live-show trail with his Brothers of the Sun Tour, featuring Chesney and fellow hit-maker Tim McGraw, which has sold more than a half-million tickets thus far.
"It's thrilling to know that Deana and Matraca's beautiful song has reached so many people," said the Tennessee native, "and the fact that a half-million tickets has already been sold for the Brothers of the Sun Tour makes me wants to get back on the road and give each crowd the best spring break party of their lives."
During the 2012 concert outing, Chesey and McGraw will perform stadium shows on weekend dates at venues across the country, and these dates mark the lone cities and venues Chesney will play in 2012.
