There is no doubt that “Thor” made director Kenneth Branagh a valuable asset in Hollywood (he was incredible before that, but it helped get him more recognition).
Vulture is reporting today that Branagh is in negotiations with Disney to helm its live action adaptation of “Cinderella,” this news comes after Mark Romanek (“One Hour Photo”) had to drop out due to “creative differences” (always a good sign).
Not much is known about the plot, but Cate Blanchett (“The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring”) is still set to play the evil stepmother (seriously can that casting be any better?).
Production is set to begin this fall for a late 2014 release date, but the titular role still hasn’t been cast (my money is on Saoirse Ronan who’s “The Host” comes out later this year).
