The 2013 annual "Fabulous Nudes" exhibit unveils itself at Kennedy Gallery this January with an inspiring collection of art in a variety of mediums. First looks can be had during the Thursday Preview on January 10 at 6:00 p.m. A Second Saturday reception from 3 to 10 p.m. will follow as usual and welcomes visitors to come greet the artists and discuss their work and approach to "Fabulous Nudes" which is one of the most popular annual exhibits.
Among the figurative focus is work by Michael Misha Kennedy in classic graphite with live models, stunning bronze works by master sculptor Jay Bishop, contemporary classics by Pat Orner capturing both "whimsy and desire," and "the accomplished works of Kevin Trivedi with his compilation of both acrylics and pastels." The group exhibit also includes other artists that will be revealed on the Thursday debut as Kennedy Gallery "pulls back the curtain to expose some of our local treasures."
"Fabulous Nudes" will compliment the various artists that continuously show in Kennedy Gallery's new location at 1931 L St., Sacramento CA 95811. The big blue Victorian on the corner of 20th and L is home to a collective of local artists that make Kennedy Gallery the home of a balance of mediums, vision, and talent including stunning photography by Rob Orani, pastels and acrylics often depicting animals by Sandy Lindblad, and, of course, the ever popular work by Michael Misha Kennedy. Other current resident artists also include painter Pamela Findleton, Deidre Dougherty with bronze sculptures and torch art, pet sculptures by Crystal Hollister and Shannon Granados, painter Jessica Stanfill, Larry Hunt with metal and neon light work and Mark Pratton working in pottery and custom glazes.
