Kenn Kihiu's new nutrition and weight loss book out this month

For anyone whose New Year’s resolution was to lose weight there’s a new book out this month that might help. "Sleep Fat Wake Up Thin: How To Lose Weight F.A.S.T Without Struggle" is the name of consumer health and fitness expert Kenn Kihiu’s new book. Here’s what he had to say recently about himself and his book and how he can help people reach their fitness and nutrition goals.

Sandra Cruz: Did you ever have any issues with weight loss yourself?
Kenn Kihiu: No I’ve never had a personal issue with weight loss but I’ve had family members who have struggled with their weight. It’s the main reason I created my danceX workout as a fun and easy to follow workout for anyone to do including my mom.

SC: How did you acquire your expertise?
KK: I got my education through industry certification but that was just the beginning, the rest has been through personal education. I read a lot, attend seminars but nothing beats personal experience while working with clients.

SC: What inspired you to get into this field?
KK: My inspiration has been friends and family. I’m in love with the idea that I can positively affect the lives of the people I care about and love so much.

SC: What does the ‘F.A.S.T’ acronym in the book’s title mean?
KK: It covers 4 of the 5 modules of the book:
F is for Fasting, Short and Flexible
A for Alkalinity and Water
S for Sugar and Insulin
T is for Taming Appetite, Behavior and Cravings

SC: Briefly summarize what your book is about.
KK: The book is a nutrition and weight-loss course that teaches the natural and easy to follow principles on how to lose weight without the struggle of suffering through a small number of acceptable recipes, complex point counting charts, or dieting rules.

SC: What is the best advice you can give someone trying to lose weight?
KK: Forget about 100% success or being perfect. Instead what you are looking for is constant improvement without demanding perfection. Every day ask yourself just one question. What one simple thing can I do today to make myself more healthy than I was yesterday.
