Kendra Wilkinson joined the newest celebrity reality show “Splash” even though she has a deathly fear of heights. When it came time to jump off the high dive Kendra freaked out and tearfully quit the show.
Wilkinson climbed to the top of the 23-foot platform but just could not make the dive, USA Today reported on April 3. Kendra signed on for the celebrity diving show in hopes it would help her conquer her fear of heights. However, attempting to dive off a 23-foot platform only made things worse. Explaining her fear of heights, Wilkinson said:
“I start spinning, I start wanting to throw up, I’m shaking, my fingers wiggle.”
Kendra had been paired with extreme skier Rory Bushfield, who ruptured an eardrum in practice and was advised by doctors not to compete.
Kendra Wilkinson apologized to her teammates and her fans saying that she is not a quitter, and that quitting “Splash” will “haunt her” for the rest of her life.
Following the show, Kendra Wilkinson took to Twitter, saying:
“Damn I got a lot of hate tonight but ill take it. Big mistake signing up for the show. Sorry I let you all down.”
Wilkinson rose to fame as one of Hugh Hefner’s three blonde girlfriends on the E! reality show, “The Girls Next Door.” The other two girlfriends were Holly Madison, who just gave birth to her first child, and Bridget Marquardt. Wilkinson, Madison and Marquardt appeared in three Playboy pictorial spreads together.
Wilkinson married former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Basket in June 2009. The couple has one son, and has starred in a few other reality shows, including “Kendra” and “Kendra On Top.”
