Kendra Wilkinson and her husband Hank Baskett announced that they were expecting their second child in October, and now, the reality star and her former NFL pro hubby have revealed the gender of their unborn baby -- it's a girl! But if Kendra has it her way, she's going to be a tomboy.
"I don’t want her to feel like she has to be trapped in a girly-girl bubble," Kendra tells OK! Magazine on December 11, via Radar Online. "We are going for unisex colors, like yellow and cream, and a unisex name. I am putting basketball shorts on her. Of course we are going to introduce her to princesses, but if she turns out girly, it will be her decision."
Although the pregnancy is currently going well, it didn't start off that way. In fact, Kendra nearly miscarried early on, which shook her to the core.
"It was an awful experience," Kendra admits. "I had to go to the hospital. I spent the whole day there knowing there was the possibility that I had had a miscarriage."
Now that everything is fine, and the baby is healthy, Kendra is looking forward to her future, excited to soon be the mommy of two children. Hank, on the other hand, is a bit fearful of what is to come with the responsibility of having a little girl.
"Big Hank is terrified about having a girl. He is terrified!" Kendra says. "The first thing he said when I told him we were having a girl was, 'Oh, my god, how do I wipe her?' His eyes were filled with fear. His whole life just flipped upside down. I think he was in shock."
Having a girl is definitely a bit tougher than having a boy -- especially in the later years. While boys are tough, girls are dainty and at times, vulnerable, so for a father, that can be intimidating.
Despite Hank's understandable fears, Kendra is over the moon to be completing her family with a little girl.
"This has gone exactly the way I have always wanted my life to go," Kendra says. "I have always wanted to have my second baby before age 30 and before our five-year wedding anniversary. That way I can go into my 30s looking forward to our whole lives together. We’re two people in love."
