The Four Course Tea Featuring Dinner event will take place on Friday, August 22nd, 2014. This special culinary event takes place at Kendall College 900 N. Branch street, Chicago, IL. Proceeds from this special event and auction items enable continuing education in tea for winner. The event admission is $82 and college will provide free parking for event attendees.
Kendall is voted #1 in local programs for preparing students for culinary arts by the Chicago Michelin Guide Restaurants. This unique dinner is hosted by Kendall College and is showcasing the winning menu from the tea competition. There will be tea in each course (4 of them paired with wine sponsored by Midwest Wine Selections). Cocktail reception starts at 6:00pm, followed with special dinner event at 6:30pm.
This Chicago Gourmets event presents master chef Austin Yancy. Chef Yancy competed and won gold metal USA team in 2013, and he was titled "Chef Of The Year" by American Culinary Federation in 2014. Chef Yancy is also an instructor at Kendall College and will be guiding culinary students in this tea competition. He will be revealing the winner of the tea competition judged by a special culinary panel.
Besides the 12 professional grade commercial kitchens at Kendall College, they have a restaurant. The fine dining restaurant (Dining Room) is open to the public, has extraordinary views of Chicago's skyline, and staffed with the colleges students.
