Ken Jeong hosted the Billboard Music Awards live from Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday night. If you have heard his name, but can’t seem to place him, then you probably have seen the actor in ‘The Hangover’ and he revives his role in ‘The Hangover II.’
While the Billboard award show definitely had a moment or two, no credit can be given to Jeong for his capabilities as a host. The music on stage ran the show and the entertainers gave the fans a reason to remember.
While the actor of Step Brothers, Pineapple Express and even The Hangover as Leslie Chow has given Jeong characters that bring laughter to audiences on the big screen around the world. Tonight, the hose was a sleeper as the comedic bits fell flat between the performances. And while some of the moments meant to be funny, it just seemed they didn’t have an edge for distinction.
“To me all comedians want to be rock stars. To hang out with these stars is a dream come true,” said Ken Jeong after the show was over. He took questions from reporters after sharing details for the time he took to prep for the hose job. According to Jeong he flew to Vegas a few weeks back for the pretaped comedic bits and most of his jokes on the show were jointly written.
