Ken Cuccinelli – America’s top public servant?
Virginia’s Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is one of three finalists for ‘Public Servant of the Year’ in the conservative group Sam Adams Alliance (SAM) 4thannual Sammies awards.
SAM is among conservative groups nation-wide who are supportive of Mr. Cuccinelli, in particular his challenge to constitutionality of the Obama Administration’s Patient Affordability Act, otherwise known as ObamaCare.
The Sammies, which will be hosted by Fox News’ John Stossel, recognizes ordinary Americans who take extraordinary steps to serve their fellow citizens through their engagement as watchdogs, reformers, messengers and strategists, SAM said in a news release.
According to SAM, the Public Servant award (there is no cash prize) is one in which the honoree holds themselves and their institution to a higher level of responsibility.
“From school board leader to congressman, the public servant awardee has enacted or helped to enact tangible improvements to their district or community from their elected or appointed position.”
Apart from the Virginia Attorney General, the other two finalists are Hon. Scott Walker, Governor of Wisconsin and Ms. Michelle Rhee, former Chancellor, District of Columbia Public Schools.
Cuccinelli will not attend the April 8 awards ceremony in Chicago because he has other business that day, according to a spokesman for the attorney general.
Richmond’s Jamie Radtke, former President of the Richmond Tea Party and head of the Virginia Tea Party Patriots won a Sammie award last year for her work as a Tea Party Activist. Radtke is now running for the US Senate.
