Kemp goes yard. Dodgers end 3-game losing skid beating Giants, 6-2.

The Dodgers’ bats finally awoke Saturday at Chavez Ravine ending a season-long three-game losing streak for Los Angeles beating the San Francisco Giants, 6-2.

Trailing 2-0 going into the bottom of the 6th, Los Angeles scored twice in each of the next three innings to score the win.

After the Dodgers scored a run in the 6th to cut the deficit in half, Matt Kemp – who went 2 for 4 in the game – brought Yasiel Puig home for the tying run with a single through the hole at short tying the score at 2-apiece.

In the 7th, catcher Drew Butera hit a 2-out double and was then driven in by Dee Gordon putting the Dodgers ahead for good, 3-2. Gordon came home later in the inning when Yasiel Puig hit a ground-rule double down the left-field line and into the seats making it 4-2.

In the 8th, Matt Kemp hit a solo homerun to right off reliever Juan Gutierrez. Kemp’s 5th of the year made it 5-2. Later in the frame, Carl Crawford scored on a Drew Butera sac fly making the score 6-2.

Ace “1-B”, Zack Grienke, picked up his sixth win against only one loss on the season going seven full innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs and striking out eight Giants batters.

He got into trouble early loading the bases in the second. After Brandon Crawford scored on a sacrifice fly by Hunter Pence, former league MVP Buster Posey singled to right-center scoring Brandon Hicks making the score 2-0, Giants.

Giants starter Matt Cain got a no-decision going 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits.

Reliever Jeremy Affeldt got the loss for San Francisco.

The Dodgers go for the series split Sunday when Ace “1-A” Clayton Kershaw makes his Dodger Stadium season debut for L.A. First pitch is set for 1:10pm.
