Kelly Rowland, Jamie Foxx, Marsha Ambrosius and more pay tribute to 2011 BET Lifetime Achievement Award winner Patti Labelle in video released Tuesday. Just days before the actual award is given to Labelle, the video also gives viewers an idea of what to expect during the show Sunday.
"She's fun. She has this great voice. She has so much character," Kelly Rowland ("Motivation") says in video to the left. "I remember the first time I met Patti. I felt so honored almost like it's royalty."
As previously reported, BET will honor the icon with the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her contributions to music and culture, during the BET Awards 11' airing Sunday,June 26.
Jill Scott, Eve and Chrisette Michele are also featured in video via left, discussing their fondest memories of Labelle, with Scott claiming she has been more than an inspiration but a mother.
"She has just been a mother, very much, a mother to me," says Scott.
The 2011 BET Awards air Sunday, June 26 at 8pm on BET.
