Kelly Rowland is in the best shape of her life, thanks to a healthy, balanced diet and rigorous workouts. Rowland works out five to six days a week, saying exercise makes her look and feel great.
“I work out five or six times a week," Rowland told Shape. "I feel better, look better, sleep better.
As I’m getting older, the Rowland family trait of having bigger bottoms is taking its toll on my hips and butt. The other day, [my trainer] had me doing squats that were so hard I wanted to kill her. But my behind is getting higher and tighter. Exercise really does change your body.”
The 5-foot-8 former Destiny's Child singer doesn't like to diet, and instead prefers to eat well most of the time while still enjoying her favorite foods.
“When I want a steak, I grill some Portobello mushrooms and put a little goat cheese on them,” she said. “And I’ve learned to satisfy my sweet tooth by replacing Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with half a tablespoon of almond butter on half a banana.”
While her athletic physique is the envy of many women, Rowland thinks Jessica Biel has the hottest abs in Hollywood. Kelly says women get too impatient when trying to transform their bodies. The secret to looking your best, she says, is to make eating well and working out a lifestyle, and not a quick fix.
Rowland, who has been an exercise devotee for many years, admits her biggest workout motivation is to look good. "I want to look good naked," she admitted. "Everybody wants to look good naked. That's the goal."
