If you thought Kelly Ripa's good looks were "au naturel" you were wrong!
The 'Live with Kelly and Michael' host confessed to Elle magazine that she has had a little help keeping her face so fresh, and that little helper is Botox.
The Elle reporter interviewed Ripa at a New York City spin class, and when Ripa emerged looking less sweaty than her fellow classmates, she honestly explained her little secret.
"It's the Botox," she said, adding that she will, on occasion, get injections in her armpits to avoid sweating. And then there's the regularly schedule pokes to her TV-ready face.
"Every seven months or so, my eyelid skin rests on my eyelashes. So I feel like it makes my makeup artist's life easier, and it makes my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now."
The news might come as a surprise to some, who thought Ripa was gracefully handling the aging process.
The Mayo Clinic says Botox is the brand name for a medicinal form of botulinum toxin type A, also known as onabotulinumtoxinA. The toxin is produced by a specific bacterium that causes the food poisoning botulism. When injected in small doses into specific muscles, Botox doesn't poison you but acts as a muscle relaxant with effects that can last for several months.
