Releasing great R&B music is what she's most respected for and this time isn't any different. Teaming up with American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard, for her latest single, music website This Is RnB reported on Sunday May 25 that the new tune can be classified as a "smooth, grown and sexy love song."
The single, set to be included on the former R&B Divas upcoming LP, Sing, Pray, Love Vol. 1: Sing, is the follow up to the album's debut single, "It's My Time" currently resting at a #31 position on the Billboard R&B chart. Some view the upbeat tempo single as a theme song which exactly what the songstress intended when making and releasing the lead single.
During an interview with ABC News Radio, Price explained how she wanted the song to inspire everyone to go after their dreams.
"This song really is for anybody that has ever felt like they couldn't, whether it's because they built their own barriers or somebody else has built barriers and they've decided to allow them to remain in their life, to say kick them down. Kick them down and go for it."
Kicking down barriers and going for it is pretty much how the "Friend of Mine" singer is handling her reclaim to fame and reshaping of her image ever since landing the gig as one of TV One's R&B Divas of L.A. In that role the soulful singer was viewed as that of a bully, the villain and someone who was very "combative with the ladies," her cast mates, Chante Moore, Lil Mo, Dawn Robinson, Michel'le and Faith Evans.
It was during this show that viewers watched Price celebrate her 40th birthday which Price says was kind of like a revelation for her and an opportunity for her to re-evaluate her life, and this milestone birthday became the influence behind the creation of the album soon to be released on June 3.
"I got within months of my 40th birthday and just started thinking and over-thinking and evaluating, and this record really is a reflection of that, even the title is a reflection of that period of time: Sing Pray Love -- kind of my musical version of what the movie Eat, Pray, Love was."
It's no secret that music is a love of the Grammy nominated artist and fans can be happy that she's heading "Back 2 Love" with her new single featuring the charismatic American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard. The single is for the lovers who may sometimes forget what they have with another and need to reflect on it, schedule a little time for one another and get "Back 2 Love."
