Kelly Osbourne, who lost 50 pounds over the past 12 months, showed off her slammin' size 2 bikini body on the December 2010 cover of Shape magazine.
The 5'2" Kelly, who has struggled with weight all her life, once topped the scales at 160 pounds and wore a size 14. She credits her stunning slimdown to a low-carb, sugar-free diet and daily 90-minute workouts.
"I used to eat chips and cookies and drink soda all day long," she says. "I had to start making better choices. Now, when I'm full I stop eating!"
'I CRIED WHEN I SAW THE COVER'
Osbourne, who says she cried with joy when she first saw her Shape magazine bikini cover, now weighs a slender 112 pounds but still can't get over her amazing transformation.
"I never thought in a million years I'd be that healthy girl who wakes up every morning to exercise," Kelly, 26, says. "I'm rocking a bikini!"
Osbourne, who kick-started her weight loss while competing on Dancing With the Stars in 2009, says overhauling her diet and doing Pilates, the Bar Method and running on the treadmill helped her shed the weight.
"I started losing weight and realized, 'Oh, it's true what they say: Diet and exercise really work!'" she recounts
Kelly lost 20 pounds while competing on DWTS but regained some of it back after the show ended and she resumed her old diet and sedentary lifestyle.
'I STILL HATE WORKING OUT!'
In the spring of 2010, Osbourne began taking long hikes with her mother, Sharon, and exercising at the gym six days a week.
"I just commit to half an hour a day," says the reality star. "It doesn’t seem overwhelming and I can handle that. I do half an hour on the treadmill and when I feel like doing more, I'll do a few sit-ups and some weights."
Kelly, who once lamented that people teased her more for being fat than for being a former drug addict, says designers are now sending her clothes to wear when she goes out in public.
"Now every designer will send me anything that I want, and I can't believe that I am in this situation," Osbourne gushes. "I opened up all of these zip bags last night from Marchesa -- off the runway -- and I can't believe that it fits me."
Still, Kelly confesses she hates working out. “I don’t care what anyone else says, working out f*cking sucks!” she says.
'START SMALL & BE CONSISTENT'
The best way to stay consistent, she says, is to set realistic goals in the beginning. “Start small and do it with a friend and keep going from there," she says.
"That’s the only way to do it. When you go in there and go, ‘I’m going to do this and do this,’ it’s so overwhelming.”
Another thing that keeps Osbourne motivated is to dress up before hitting the gym. She says:
“I know people say, ‘Don’t wear makeup at the gym,’ but I am that girl that wears makeup at the gym.
I don’t wear mascara, but I put foundation on and blush and a little lip gloss. It really does help. If you don’t like your reflection, you don’t want to go back. I don’t want to look at myself looking gross.”
