Kelly Clarkson, the first-ever “American Idol” winner, tied the knot over the weekend with fiancé Brandon Blackstock, reported Eonline today. Kelly Clarkson married talent manager Brandon Blackstock, making it official and Miss Independent no more in a small ceremony in Tennessee this past Sunday.
Kelly Clarkson formally divulged the exciting news on Twitter today, writing, "I'm officially Mrs. Blackstock. We got married yesterday at Blackberry Farms in TN, the most beautiful place ever!"
Not only is Kelly Clarkson a Grammy winner and a new wife, but she can also add step-mother to her resume. She told Yahoo!, "I'm 31! My eggs aren't getting any younger. Brandon's such a great dad — he already has a 12 and a 6-year-old — and I love them… We've been living together for over a year, I'm so used to having kids in the house now, that I'm like, 'I want a baby.' So I'm making him start right away."
Clarkson, whose holiday album, "Wrapped in Red," debuts October 29, laid rumors to rest from this past August when gossip swirled around the couple after they announced a change in wedding plans. Many postulated this meant their wedding was being called off completely, but in reality while planning a gigantic ceremony, the couple felt it was too overwhelming and decided to elope instead.
And elope they did! Clarkson and Blackstock showed up in person in Sumner County to obtain a marriage license, and the wedding just took off from there. Only a small group of friends and family were in attendance, including Blackstock's two children from his previous marriage.
