Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock were quietly married in during a small ceremony last year and the country music singer announced that she was expecting the couple’s first child via Twitter one month later. Clarkson has now also used Twitter to reveal the gender of their baby.

Making the announcement on Jan. 20, Clarkson revealed that she and Blackstock are expecting a baby girl. The first “American Idol” winner recently was in the studio recording with Martina McBride, something that took her mind off her difficult pregnancy.

This is Kelly Clarkson’s first child. Brandon Blackstock has three children from a previous marriage. Kelly’s fans are excited that the singer/songwriter has finally found love and offered congratulations on the impending birth of her baby girl. Clarkson has been battling extreme nausea and vomiting, making this a difficult pregnancy for the first time mom-to-be.

Kelly made the announcement that she and Brandon are expecting a girl by saying:

“We just found out we’re having a girl officially! I knew it! Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting ha!”

Harry Stiles of “One Direction” offered his congratulations, along with many other celebrities and fans.
