Howard Stern is coming forward to add his voice to the drama with Kelly Clarkson and Clive Davis, according to Us Weekly on Feb. 22. A few days prior, on Feb. 18 Clive Davis released his memoir, “The Soundtrack of my Life,” where he reveals details about his life as a music producer which allowed him to work with people like Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Bob Dylan, and of course, Kelly Clarkson.
In 2007 Davis and Clarkson butted heads over her album, “My December.” Davis felt the album was not successful and wrote awful things about Clarkson in the book. Clarkson lashed back stating the information was false. Clive said Kelly came into his office, crying hysterically, when he demanded that “Since You Been Gone” be put on the 2004 album “Breakaway.” Clarkson says it had nothing to do with that song, but rather “Because of You.” Kelly says Clive is getting “mixed up” with the telling of his tales. Clive basically talks about Kelly like she’s a piece of trash and her music is garbage.
Howard Stern is bringing his voice to Team Kelly’s ringside. Stern can usually be found slamming celebrities so it’s a welcome change when he wants to defend one. Stern says that he finds it disgusting when management decides they should be open about the creative talent. During his live radio show Howard said “this guys trying to diminish what she does? Doesn’t he have enough in life? Can he sort of tell his story without f—cking degrading her and putting her down?”
