Kelly Clarkson, the first American Idol winner, is now a married woman according to a report in Reuters today. The singer wed talent manager Brandon Blackstock in Tennessee this past weekend, Clarkson announced today.
Clarkson’s Twitter message stated: “I’m officially Mrs. Blackstock :) We got married yesterday at Blackberry Farms in TN, the most beautiful place ever.”
The 31-year-old Texas native was photographed wearing a lace gown with long sleeves, which Brit designer Alice Temporley created for this special occasion. The backdrop for the photo of bride and groom was the entry to a covered bridge.
Clarkson had dated Blackstock since 2012, and also told the world about their engagement last year. There is another music connection to this relationship as well, as Blackstock is Reba McEntire’s stepson.
Kelly Clarkson is not just the first American Idol winner, but also one of its most successful champions. Hit songs, like “Since U Been Gone” and “My Life Would Suck Without You,” have transformed her into a pop star to be reckoned with.
