Kelly Clarkson was set to marry her fiancé Brandon Blackstock on October 20, 2013 in Nashville, Tenn. but those plans have changed according to People in an article posted on Aug. 21, 2013 that confirms Clarkson and her fiancé have decided to elope. Clarkson said "We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, So, we change our minds and we want to elope" adding "We just got so overwhelmed by it — all the decisions."
Clarkson had just posted a picture of the couples engagement photo shoot on her Twitter page on Aug.20, 2013 with the caption “Okay... One more from our engagement shoot ha! #TieItUp :)” showing the happy couple getting ready for the big day.
Blackstock proposed to Clarkson in December and the pair had planned on having an earthy wedding in the fall but Clarkson told People "Honestly, the planning … we have two kids who just started school. We're going to all these football games and soccer games and volleyball games and Brandon's got one of the biggest artists Blake Shelton in country music. He's flying everywhere."
Clarkson added the couple sent out an engagement photo to everyone saying "Thank you so much for understanding, but it's just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister" when she explained the change of plans to their family and friends.
