Kelly Clarkson has been making news headlines this week after announcing that she and her husband-to-be, Brandon Blackstock, are calling off their lavish wedding in favor of elopement. Tonight, August 22, Clarkson took to Twitter to say,
FYI ....Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant. We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony.
As the first-ever winner of American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has had a very busy, successful career, and Brandon is busy managing Blake Shelton. (He also has two children). Clarkson admits the pair simply does not have the time to plan a wedding, along with their other upcoming engagements. Yesterday, she also told People details about the wedding started to leak once save the dates were sent out, so they will instead have an intimate ceremony with only the minister and Brandon’s children present.
Contributing to this decision is the release of Kelly’s first Christmas album, which goes on sale October 29. The album is entitled, “Wrapped In Red.” This week, she also announced a new partnership with State Farm’s Celebrate My Drive program, in which high schools can make safe driving commitments and enter to win grants. Two high schools will even win concerts with Kelly.
