Kellie Pickler has never been one to shy away from a good cause, nor has she ever been one to shy away from the dance floor. On season 16 of 'Dancing With the Stars' she danced her way to the ultimate prize: The Mirror Ball Trophy. Clearly Pickler has a passion for dance, and that is probably one of the reasons that she was chosen to perform at the Ballet Ball fundraising event on Sat. March 8 at the Nashville Schermerhorn Symphony. The annual fundraising event, which benefits Nashville Ballet raises money for programs that bring dance classes to local children. The country songstress wowed the crowd with two songs from her 'The Woman I Am' album at their 25th anniversary.
"Kellie did an amazing job performing at Ballet Ball, which benefits Nashville Ballet. It was fun to see dancers bring her songs to life, and she even showed off a few of her own dance moves!" a source tells PEOPLE. "She told the dancers they looked like angels and she has a sincere appreciation for what they can do."
The 'Red High Heels' singer was honored to be a part of the event, and tweeted her excitement and support following her performance: "Blessed to have been a part of the #NashvilleBallet tonight! Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of your special night! :) #NashBallet," wrote Pickler.
Pickler who has participated in three USO tours also actively supports St. Jude's Research Hospital and various other causes.
